Fun Hostel Review

Tatamka Hostel Warsaw

Tatamka Hostel Warsaw is a quite affordable hostel with a nice kitchen, simple safety setup, and real potential for very fun stays — especially when the more popular male-only-room hostels are fully booked.

What Tatamka Hostel Warsaw is like

Rooms

There are no male-only rooms, but there are female-only rooms. Because of that, many mixed dorms can be fulfilled mostly by males.

During two of my three stays, I had only male roommates, and both stays turned out to be full of fun.

Safety

All rooms are locked with keys, while common areas are protected with codes.

It is a simple and practical safety setup. Nothing overly fancy, but enough to make the place feel controlled and easy to use.

Common areas

There is a nice kitchen area on the first floor.

The kitchen itself provides everything you need to make dinner, prepare snacks, or sit for a while between going out and returning to your room.

Smoking area

There is also a smoking area on the first floor.

This can be useful if you want a small break, a casual conversation, or just a more relaxed moment outside of the room.

Showers

The 8-bed room I stayed in had an ensuite setup, with a shower and toilet directly inside the room.

The 6-bed room does not have its own shower. The common shower setup is unfortunately unknown to me so far, because I did not check it personally. Based on Booking photos, there seems to be a set of cabins with glass doors.

Price policy

Prices are medium and quite affordable.

That makes Tatamka a good backup choice when the more popular hostels with male-only room options are already fully booked.

General room setup

0 male-only rooms
2 / 3 stays with only male roommates
8 bed room with ensuite

Officially, there are no male-only rooms. However, because female-only rooms are available, the mixed dorms can sometimes end up mostly or fully male in practice.

This makes the hostel more unpredictable than a hostel with clear male-only dorms, but also gives it a surprisingly good potential for fun stays.

Best room choices

8-bed mixed dorm

Ensuite setup

The 8-bed room I stayed in had its own ensuite setup, with both a shower and toilet directly inside the room.

That is convenient and makes the room more self-contained, especially if you do not want to depend on common bathrooms.

In my experience, this room can work well when the roommate setup is good.

6-bed mixed dorm

No own shower

The 6-bed room does not have its own shower.

That means you will need to use the common shower setup. I have not checked those personally yet, so I cannot fully judge them from experience.

Based on Booking photos, there seems to be a set of shower cabins with glass doors.

Final verdict

Why I recommend it

I would recommend Tatamka Hostel Warsaw in case the more popular hostels with male-only rooms are fully booked. This place has real potential for very fun stays, especially because mixed dorms can sometimes end up mostly or fully male. It is not guaranteed, but from my experience, it can work surprisingly well.
