Warsaw Review

Safestay Old Town Warsaw

Safestay Old Town Warsaw is a solid option if your priority is location, privacy, and staying close to the old town. It has a decent setup, a useful kitchen area, and one male-only room, but it is not the hostel I would choose if you expect a more fun or open room atmosphere.

Great old town location One male-only room Medium-high prices

What Safestay Old Town Warsaw is like

Staff

The staff are quite welcoming and happy to help if needed.

The overall feeling is easy and professional: nothing too personal or overly social, but if you need assistance, you can expect a helpful attitude.

Common areas

There is a nice kitchen area on the top floor.

The kitchen itself provides everything you need to make dinner, prepare snacks, or simply sit for a while and take a break from the room.

Rooms

There is only one male-only room available, and it has 6 beds.

The room is not very big — around 18 m² — but because it is smaller, it can still create some atmosphere depending on who is staying there.

Bed curtains

Unfortunately, each bed has those dusty, untransparent, mood-killer curtains.

They can be useful if you want privacy, but they also make the room feel much more closed and less open. For me, this detail strongly affects the overall room vibe.

Showers

On each floor, there are 2 separate bathroom rooms.

Each one has 1 toilet and 1 cabin shower inside, so the setup is simple, private, and practical enough for a hostel of this type.

Price policy

Prices are usually in the medium-high range.

But this mostly comes from the great location in the old town. If being close to the center is important for your stay, the price makes more sense.

General room setup

1 male-only room
6 beds available
18 m² approx.

The main room worth considering is the 6-bed male-only room. It is not spacious, but because it is smaller, it can feel more focused and atmospheric than a larger mixed dorm.

The biggest downside is the bed curtain setup. If you want privacy, you may appreciate it. If you prefer a more open and social dorm feeling, it can be a mood killer.

Best bed choices

6-bed male-only room

Main option

This is the only male-only option in the hostel, so if you care about that, this is the room to look for.

The room is around 18 m², so it is not very big. That can make it feel more intimate, but it also means the bed position and curtain setup matter more.

Since all beds have curtains, the room can feel less open than it could be. It is better for privacy than for a more energetic room atmosphere.

Privacy vs atmosphere

Important note

The curtains are the main thing that defines the room experience.

If you want to hide away, rest, and keep your space private, they can be useful. But if you want a more open hostel-room feeling, they can make the stay feel colder and less engaging.

I have stayed in this hostel many times, and only one of those stays was actually successful in the way I hoped.

Final verdict

Why I recommend it

I would recommend Safestay Old Town Warsaw if you need a great location and maybe some privacy with these curtains. The old town location is clearly the strongest reason to stay here, and the kitchen area is useful. However, do not expect a fun stay here. I have been in this hostel many times, and only one of the stays was successful.

Great location Privacy curtains Useful kitchen Not a fun-stay pick
